Compact & Efficient Design

The stainless steel spiral wound tube bundle is a high-performance alternative to conventional straight-tube bundles. Instead of straight tubes, the bundle consists of multiple layers of spirally wound seamless tubes wrapped around a central core. Each tube layer is separated by spacers to create multiple flow passages. This design delivers extremely high heat transfer coefficients in a small volume, making it ideal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants, air separation units (ASU), and chemical reactors. Our bundles are fabricated from ASME SA213 TP304/304L or TP316/316L stainless steel seamless tubes, ensuring excellent corrosion resistance and strength at cryogenic temperatures.

When to Choose a Stainless Steel Spiral Wound Bundle:
  • You need large heat transfer duty in a small shell (space-constrained retrofit)
  • Your process requires very close temperature approach (e.g., gas liquefaction)
  • Tube side fluid is high pressure (e.g., 100-200 bar natural gas)
  • Shell side fluid is relatively clean (fouling can be managed by chemical cleaning)
