Its low carbon content (≤0.08%) improves weldability. Designed for extreme high-temperature service up to 1150°C (2100°F), it excels in oxidizing environments, resisting scaling, carburization, and thermal fatigue. Common uses include furnace parts, petrochemical cracking tubes, and power generation superheaters. Compared to 304/316 grades, it offers far better oxidation resistance but is not suited for ambient chlorides or reducing atmospheres. Seamless construction ensures strength and reliability. Welding is straightforward with matching filler, and post-weld heat treatment is typically unnecessary.
